Email To Friend Print Version | Sources within the interim government have informed TCI Net News that legal holds have been placed on the known assets of former ministers until such time that it is determined that the assets were properly acquired. Other information indicates holds are also in place on all government “Crown land” transactions.

Former Premier Michael Misick |
This appears to have affected the 11,000 square foot mansion of former premier Michael Misick, which has been on the market for several weeks, priced somewhere in the region of $15 million.
A number of weeks ago it was reported that a British law firm had been assigned the task of recovering illegally acquired assets.
TCI Net News has been told that 31 large land parcels transferred during the Misick Administration are being reviewed and the transfers could be subject to reversal.
Numerous small parcels are also under review.
A concern expressed among belongers is that, when internal government is returned to the TCI next year, Britain may restrict the new government from selling Crown land. The non-private land of the islands is held in trust for the people (belongers) of the islands and is supposed to be sold under strict guidelines.
However, it appears the rules were not adhered to by the former administration, making the current review necessary. | | | | Reads : 905 |
